Klar Kabinett need to be covered?

Hey folks,

Thinking of getting something different like a veggie soap to add to my other favorites, Tabac and VDH Luxury.

Been checking out Klar Kabinett and I like the price, size and reviews.

Just wondering, do I need to cover it like a semi-hard/soft soap like Cella?

Does it need to be in a closed container for it not to go bad?

Thanks,

Interesting question, David. I've been using Klar Kabinett for about two months.

It arrives in a package that contains two long rectangle shavped bars of soap. I cut off a small section of one soap and pressed it into an Old Spice mug loosely covered with Dunkin Doughnuts coffee lid. The remaining 1-3/4 bars were simply loosely wrapped in the original wrapper and then wrapped in a simply plastic food storage bag in the Zombie emergency shave bunker (basement, where spouses don't go) for longer term storage.

I would guess that it will store fine for years (which it will take me to get through it). It's an easy lathering soap and a great performer. When you first open the package, you'll be hit with a strong rose scent, somewhat synthetic smelling (i'm not the person to opine on scents) which will dissipate over time.

Back to performance. I always get a great lather with any brush. It provides an easy, effective cushion and equally nice glide. For me it has a very good post-shave skin feel after the shave. It has become one of my go to soaps.

I've been using it since I discovered it while stationed in Germany some 20 years ago. I simply cut off a chunk and put it in an old mug. I leave it uncovered and the remainder I just re- wrap in the paper. It's a utility shave soap, nothing special is required.

Using it exclusively? What kind of brush have you been using.

Thanks, that was the information I was looking for. I've got three shave mugs and I was looking at Klar as my third pick in my rotation. The other two are Tabac and VDH Luxury.

Hopefully Klar will work out and I'll have three types of shave soaps as in veggie, tallow and glycerin.
