What's new

July 2018 Challenge Unconventional Beauty

The idea for this month is to find something not normally thought of as beautiful and capture it in a more flattering way. This could be something old and dilapidated, creepy, ugly considered a nuisance, or just plain boring. You can do this with lighting, angle, framing, zooming into macro, whatever it takes just try to make us see your subject differently. Time to start thinking and shooting and most importantly have fun!

Monthly Photo Challenge rules
  • Winner of the previous months challenge picks new theme and starts thread.
  • You must be the photographer.
  • One entry per month.
  • Try and make the image a recent one.
  • Competition runs until the 19th of the Month.
  • Voting runs from the 20th - 26th.
  • The person with the most votes is the winner.
I'll start it off with some weeds in front of an old shed in need of some siding.
Great idea for a challenge and I like your entry Troy! Here's what came into my mind when I first read the instructions for this month. To me, sunflowers are a nefarious weed that need to be eradicated. However in the right light they can be compelling.

Thanks Guys!
Nice giant dandelion Stephen! I like sunflowers and dandelions, but do admit they spend more time looking bad than good, you certainly caught that one one a good day!
Here's my addition to the cause. Feel free to guess where the shot was taken.
