What's new

It's not Brush making per se, but I'm still wicked-happy :

Thrilled to death to have finally pulled the pin and received a new bandsaw!

I spent a couple hours setting it up today and so far, I couldn't be happier. I hope this helps take my woodworking to a whole new level!

I'm sure some of you other toolheads know the joy of a new power tool. Arghh Arggh Arghh!

Ah, if it isn't my old nemesis from woodshop...

I never got the hang of woodworking. Sure I have rebuilt the head on my FIL's Toyota pickup but can't turn a piece of wood into anything useful. Other than a cutting board that is, that one project turned out ok.

Congrats on your new saw!

Oh that looks sweet!! You're gonna enjoy having that in the shop I'm sure. One of these days I'll get around to buying some of these goodies for myself. The lathe will most definitely be first though.

Now half as wise
The bandsaw is one of the most versatile tools in my shop. Can't remember without looking up the model number if that is 3/4 or 1 HP, but if it's 1HP, a riser block is a nice addition before you invest in a large number of blades.

If I was setting up all over again, I'd get a big bandsaw, and a guided track saw, and forget about a tablesaw.

Way ahead of you sir! It's a 1.5 hp motor and I ordered the riser block and three blades at the same time. My buddy Harry Snider is coming over tomorrow to help me install it as it's definitely a two person job :)

Funny you should mention the table saw. My paralyzing fear of table saws is precisely why I splurged for a good band saw. Table saws scare the living bejeezus out of me!
