Is it ideal to get a moisturizer with SPF in it?

My Kiehl's moisturizer is about to run dry and before I get something else I was wondering if I should get a moisturizer that comes with SPF protection? I understand that these won't protect against prolonged sun-exposure, neither are they water-proof, but is it better to get one with it anyways in the first place?

I have just started wearing moisturizers, so I really can't give a sage advice. However, I know at first I was putting on moisturizer that my wife had, and it did have SPF. I did not care for it because it made my face feel warm. Or it felt like i was about to start sweating. She had the AM CerVea (sp?).

I just picked up an oil free moisturizer for sensitive skin that has a small amount of salicylic acid in it. It goes on light. I have been able to put it on up to 3 times a day. It is the CVS brand compared toClean and Clear.

It does not make sense to me, unless you are that fair skinned, cancer bound person.
On the other hand, I use Bananna Boat SPF - 100
Nice day

It makes sense to me. Sun exposure will age you faster, even if you are not exposed enough to get skin cancer.

I use Jack Black's daily face moisturizer with spf 20. Because it works as a moisturizer, so why not have the bonus of SPF 20, if it doesn't cause you any negative reaction.

Yeah, this is the reason why I'm interested. I'm not that fair, but it be nice to have the benefit of preventing some aging from UV rays. How effective this actually is, I don't know why - hence why I asked.

I'm also interested in that particular one, Jack Blacks double duty moisturizer. Otherwise I'd just get what Nancyboy has, it just doesn't have the SPF in it.

My friends,

I have most fights with my derm friends regarding sun.
I am in agreement with you, if you believe what you read.
I happen to be an ER doc, and love the sun.
A rare one at that.
I am 60, and look 20!
When you get to this age, it is all in your head.
I have no problems with skin cancers, but am trying my best.

Now, there are skin conditions, I love to treat that require sun!!!
A common one in young men, is Tinea Versicolar.
For some reason, sun helps this heal the skin quickly.
Again, you are right, I happen to be that person, that uses SPF -100, great tan etc.

Do what you feel is right.

Nice day my friends

Then I can tell you that I get pimples from several brands of sunblock, but Jack Black's daily double duty moisturizer has not been a problem at all in this regard. I suggest you try to get a sample and use it for a few days to see if your skin tolerates it well, as mine does. No complaints about this product at all.
