What's new

Is anyone excited about the warmer weather to come? Any big plans?

As much as I love a good winter, and lots of snow for my Jeep and I to play in, is anyone tired of it and ready for spring?

I have to go camping this year, I know that much is going to happen..... Fishing of course, I may even do some Spring gobbler hunting...

Anyone else have any big plans this year?

I'm ready for some fishing. May do some turkey hunting, probably not. I would like to, but it's tough to fit into my schedule. Looking forward to just walking with the sun nice and warm on my back again.

3 week paddle trip down the Bloodvein River in Manitoba. Put in at Artery Lake (where we took out in 2003) and spend the next 12 to 14 days paddling down to Lake Winnipeg. Catch the ferry across the big lake to my van. I have been wanting to get back to the Bloodvein for years but had a hard time finding someone to get 3 weeks off to go with me. Looks like I have a group of 4 for mid August thru early September. Can't wait for this adventure to begin.

Anxiously waiting for fishing season, the last time i caught a fish was late October a roughly two pound Brown Trout. I've been going through severe withdrawal

as soon as the warm weather hits I head to Boston every month to hang out with my brother. and we go fishing in NH. it's helped bring us closer together now that he moved and has a family of his own.
and visit the folks in the Caribbean. They just moved in 2012. My daughter's on the first plane there as soon as school ends. lol
enoy!

Hiking, motorcycling, and camping are absolute musts. I didn't take advantage of the surrounding area like I should have last year, I'm looking to rectify that. I may also do a bit of outside rock climbing if I feel good about my abilities by then. I could probably get started pretty soon actually, as long as I stick to the valleys and deserts.

A group of us just booked a cabin in Ontario Canada (Ear Falls, on Lac Seul.) We booked it for July 19th thinking the ice on the lake finally should be melted. This will be our fourth fishing trip up there.

The warmer weather down here should result in better fishing.

All my rods and reels are cleaned, lubed, and with new line on them.

I am going to miss using my scuttles and going back to cold water shaving.... But then I always miss my cold water shaves when I go back to scuttles so it all works out I guess.

As far as what is shaking once it warms up. Just the same old same old as always. Up to the cabin for a few months. Then maybe off in the RV for another adventure. :001_smile

Needs milk and a bidet!
haven't been fishing the past couple seasons so this year i'm going to be sure to make time for that.

No, that is just a precursor to summer which is upper 90's to 110 around here. This winter has been too warm, highs in mid 60's to low 70's most days. I'll take winter

Way to live! I may try some fly fishing on the Credit river this year.
