Interesting find today (1940s Schick Super Electric)

This was a fun find, a very complete package of a lightly used mid-late 1940s Schick Super.
As far as I know, this was the first commercially available modern electric razor and appears quite similar in design to the foil type razors we still use today. 😉
Like everything else made back then, this is shockingly heavy for its size.
Still works, although the on/off/adjustment dial is a little cantankerous (understandable for something that probably hasn’t been used in over 75 years).

Ron R

I survived a lathey foreman
Schick went gung ho into the Electric razor business and even sold off his Schick injector razor business to finance his electric razor startup. He had a few financial problems along the way and almost lost his business a few times from my understanding.
Good to see he made his dream come true, the Schick electric razor.
If you go to the start of this thread you will find some information about the electric razor business he started on the Dating chart @mata_66 compiled for us to enjoy(High lighted in the darker blue on the chart around 1930)
Have some great shaves!
