I Think SWMBO is DE Addicted

My wife loves when I use my good creams and lather her up with a boar bristle brush.

I've shaved her with my straights before but it is hard to find a good shaving position for her to stay still and not get cut. A while back I scored a Fatboy '61 and I like it but I have my straights and if I am in a hurry I use my shavette or my Rolls.

She usually uses a Venus razor but at 3 bucks a head the cartridges are expensive. I think I have her sold on DE shaving and she can use my Fatboy and I have a source in town for Seven O'Clock yellows for 2 dollars per 5 blades = $.40 per blade. Not bad, but for leg shaving the Wal-mart Wilkies will probably work and I can get those for less than $.30 per blade.

She also said it feels less irritating and leaves her legs very soft and shiny and smooth... ahem, you know what I mean.

SWMBO also used a sugar scrub between her WTG and ATG passes on one leg and it is noticeably softer. I'm thinking I need to look into a mid-shave exfoliator...

I gave my Mrs advice on how to use her new Gillette Pink lady that I got her for Christmas. A merkur blade and some Queen of shaves gel. Like your Mrs, mine uses the Venus razor but they aint cheap. Good luck and enjoy.

If she's afraid of a DE, get her a Schick injector. It's almost no different than what she's using but is still cheaper and probably works well.

I would think that using a DE razor on the legs has to be the ultimate money saver. compared to men shaving their beard and getting 4-6 shaves per blade and women shaving their legs....i wonder how many shaves they would get out of one blade. The leg hair has to be thin and a whole lot easier to shave.

Mine made about 3 XTG swipes before she just went full-bore ATG on her first DE shave. I nearly died watching it. In the end, though, it appears her legs are less sensitive than my face. Gave her some Bay Rum AS the other day and she didn't even get a tingle.

I bought a Lady Gillette Blue Star for my lady this christmas, and she's used it once so far. Luckily, she's not a hairy girl. If she skips shaving for 2 weeks you can barely see/feel hair on her legs.
She loves the razor. She loaded it with an Astra SP, and based on her hair type, that blade will last longer than the one I use on my face.

Is there a difference between the lady gillettes and the ones we use on our faces?

I know that the cartridges are pretty different in mens and womens razors.

Got my swmbo a pink and blue Lady Gillette. She threw the carts out after the first go. She likes Proraso white and her Omega 49.

My wife started with a DE when she first started shaving her legs many moons ago... said she sliced herself up something fierce. Won't even think of using them now. Heck she won't even let me lather her legs. Doesn't use any foam or anything... just the shower water and that's it.

Now I'm no expert at all, but apart from the colours and handle shape / design the difference stops there. I know a few guys here do use them to shave their mugs. I hear they're very gentle. As for my Mrs she hasn't put the Pink lady away which is a good sign. She's told me she'll give it a month or so befor final judgment. Thats an A+ in my book. BTW her legs are super smooth. She's got a bit of Greek or Italian in her from somewhere, way back. Her leg hair can be very wirery. But it's no match even for a Merkur blade.

Maybe you're doing something wrong?
