What's new

I think I am in love

I have purchased four DE razors and a tonne of other stuff since I started two monthhs ago, and I swore to myself, to take a break from buying for a while. So I don't know why I am still checkingthe bay on a daily basis.

However, I have just seen the most amazing, beautiful, astounding, sexy and irresistable looking razor I have ever laid my eyes on and probablyy ever will.

It is a 1921 Bostonian Gillette open tooth comb and it is gleaming like a star, I mean, it is not just clean, it looks like it was taken straight from the production line and placed into a Museam behind glass in an air-tight cabinet with no exposure to flash lenses allowed.

Thing is, it is currently 107 dollars, plus 20 postage, and I doubt I would even get it for that, with over a day to go with the bidding, considering I have seen razors go for way more without having the allure of this one.

I immediatley started plotting what I could sell to raise the money, including the four razors I already possess, I was even thinking to myself, "I barely ever play my ps3 anyway, so why not sell it".

This type of desire has gotten me in trouble in the past, never thought it would be equally again, especially for an inanimate object that would feel cold against my flesh ;)

If it is an auction with even an hour left on it the price will most likely go higher.
Only you can tell if it's something you can afford or not.

I've let a number of razors fall through my fingers over the years because I had to moderate my spending.

The funny thing is, over the years, I've come to realize that I only use 1 DE, 1 or 2 SE and 3 Straight razors.
The rest is just extra. Of all that, the biggest variation in shave comes from my straights.

John:
I've looked at this razor and you're right...it is a beaut without a doubt. Resistance is hard at times when the tug and the object (a razorin this case), is irresistible. I don't know what to say besides if you have the extra cash...'bid and pull-the-trigger'. :2guns:

Agreed, lovely piece, well-presented, and as for the length of the description, wow! Perhaps work out a price you could live with paying, if that gets you the razor, congrats. If not, you have a good chance someone will sell one on BST perhaps, though I'm sure someone will reply saying "this razor was one of a run of just 100 pieces and will never come up on BST".

Of course, I won't be bidding. Honour amongst countrymen etc.:biggrin1:

I agree, that razor is beautiful! I just bought a well used, but supposedly not damaged, Bostonian that I will get replated, figured that was the cheapest way to get a looker.

Thanks for the advice lads. I have decided to sleep on it, see how she's looking tomorrow. I find when I go away from the computer for a while, read a book or something, the initial "oh oh I have to have this now or I will surely die" feeling kind of wears off a bit, lol.

I'll let you all know if I decide to go for it and get it, and of course I will upload a few pics ;)

Hi John, Im the same way, If I just get this one thing my life will be complete! until the next thing I cant live without comes along!!!
