The blade looks normal, the only thing that makes me uneasy is the production date, so I specifically came to the forum to seek authenticity verification
It has been written several times here in the forum the PPI plant in St. Petersburg has never closed.Didn't Saint Petersburg close in October 2023?
So, may I ask if the three types of blades I sent above are genuine and have no problem with the photosIt has been written several times here in the forum the PPI plant in St. Petersburg has never closed.
The Russian plant is still operating and they continue to produce razor blades for Gillette.
They simply moved the production of Gillette Platinum blades from Russia to China.
Yes, those blades in your photo's are genuine. So, may I ask if the three types of blades I sent above are genuine and have no problem with the photos
This is a big mistake; the blade is not 24 years old.Didn't Saint Petersburg close in October 2023? I bought a large box of platinum today, with a production date of 24 years on it.
Okay, then I can rest assured. Thank youYes, those blades in your photo's are genuine.
What made you think they were not?
The packaging box says it is produced by a factory in St. Petersburg, Russia, not made in China, so I am not very confidentThis is a big mistake; the blade is not 24 years old.
24 indicates i.e., the year of manufacture i.e., the Gillette Platinum blades you purchased were manufactured this year on January 9, a recent production and therefore in the Gillette factory in China.
Now your doubt is clear to me.The packaging box says it is produced by a factory in St. Petersburg, Russia, not made in China, so I am not very confident
You can see in the second picture, the small text on the back of the shell says that it is produced by a factory in St. Petersburg, Russia
Yes, what I doubt is whether the white background blue lettered Gillette platinum made in St. Petersburg, Russia in 2024 is genuine. Although I have seen the ASTRA made in St. Petersburg, Russia in 2024, I have not seen the platinum at the momentNow your doubt is clear to me.
You are right, I cannot assure you whether indeed that Gillette Platinum blade in the first photo you posted is genuine or fake.
No doubt there be some connoisseur in the forum who knows Gillette Platinum blades better than I do and will be able to answer you.
In the other two photos you posted, the Gillette Platinum that has the date in the 2019 packaging and the Gillette Silver Blue look like safe and genuine blades.
Or, to put it another way, this Gillette platinum with a white background and blue lettering is still being produced in St. Petersburg, while Procter&Gamble only transferred the blue background and white lettering paper airplane to China for manufacturing, because these two models have similar craftsmanship and are both made of platinum, but it is said that the supply channels are differentNow your doubt is clear to me.

No blades are "made of platinum". This is rubbish talk.Or, to put it another way, this Gillette platinum with a white background and blue lettering is still being produced in St. Petersburg, while Procter&Gamble only transferred the blue background and white lettering paper airplane to China for manufacturing, because these two models have similar craftsmanship and are both made of platinum, but it is said that the supply channels are different
The Gillette Platinum Light Blue switched to Chinese manufacture, as the Gillette Platinum Light Blue is sold Europe, in countries that sanction Russia.Or, to put it another way, this Gillette platinum with a white background and blue lettering is still being produced in St. Petersburg, while Procter&Gamble only transferred the blue background and white lettering paper airplane to China for manufacturing, because these two models have similar craftsmanship and are both made of platinum, but it is said that the supply channels are different
As I had thought. The Gillette Platinum Light Blue switched to Chinese manufacture, as the Gillette Platinum Light Blue is sold Europe, in countries that sanction Russia.
The Gillette Platinum Dark Blue is a different blade, intended for different markets, sold in countries that do not have the same sanctions on Russia. No reason to think they're fake.
I didn't know that there are still Astra produced in Russia in 2024, I in Italy never seen so I guess it is the same situation as Gillette Platinum Dark Blue blades?Although I have seen the ASTRA made in St. Petersburg, Russia in 2024, I have not seen the platinum at the moment
As I had thought.
So do you confirm that there is a Gillette Platinum produced in Russia for countries that don't have the same sanctions on Russia.
@Jopo Does the same apply to Astra blades?
I didn't know that there are still Astra produced in Russia in 2024, I in Italy never seen so I guess it is the same situation as Gillette Platinum Dark Blue blades?
I can't confirm, but it would make sense given the distribution. Ivan would be the man to ask.
Just to clarify - Gillette Platinum Light Blue and Dark Blue were made concurrently in Russia for many years. Two different blades that shave differently (Light Blue generally regarded as superior), distributed in different markets. As the Light Blue is sold in Europe, ie countries that sanction Russia, production moved to China.
I would be surprised to see Astras still being made in Russia, as they are distributed in EU countries that sanction Russia. I supposed it's possible that Russia still produces Astra for certain markets. Would like to see a pic. Astras are currently produced in India and Brazil.
