How many times do you strop?

How many times do you strop on leather and linen/cotton/canvas for your daily stropping?

I was doing 30 webbed/ 60 leather, but have since went down to 20/40 and still seem to be ok so far.


I've seen numbers all over the place, so how about a poll to see what is most popular.

About ten cursory laps on the linen to clean the edge and then fifty on the leather.

Normally I do a 25/30 spread just before the shave and 20 on leather only, after.

25-30 on linen, 60-70 on latigo, 25-30 on horsehide.
And another 25-30 on linen after shaving to dry the edge.

i just do 8-15 on pure leather before shaving and this works pretty fine.

I depends on the steel. If it is normal steel 50 laps on leather. If it is my TI c135 I will do about 80 laps on the leather.

Before shaving, 50 on leather. No need for canvas or linen unless it has just been honed. Occasionally I hit the pasted paddle with 50 laps and then the leather with 50. After shave, 10 laps just to make sure that the edge is dry.
