Heat and shipping

I was planning on ordering some J.M. Fraser's and some Booster aftershaves. We will be in triple digit temps probably well into September, possibly dipping to the 90's in October. I noticed on a bottle of aftershave a notice not to store above 100 degrees . . . what about shipping above 100 degrees? Might the heat have a detrimental effect on shaving creams or aftershaves?

I might just be worrying to much . . .

unrefrigerated shipping containers, box trailers, railcars, etc. spend much of their time well over 100 in the summer time.

If you are worried about it better wait until winter to order, or have it air freighted from wherever it is manufactured, but then you have to worry about freezing in the belly of the plane when it is -30 at altitude.

I say don't worry about it.

I usually try to space my purchases of creams to spring and fall- I just don't want to take a chance on any wierdness. In hot weather, I have had some creams come in kinda soupy, but they thickened back up eventually. That may or may not be related to the shipping, but I have enough stock I don't choose to take that chance. Still, there are so many variables you cannot control (temps and treatment in the vendor's city and in transit) It almost seems rediculous to try and time this stuff. I do it anyway.

When I lived in Utah I had several creams, soaps, and ASB's bake in the mailbox while I was at work (Post came around 11am, I got home from work at about 8pm). I never noticed anything wrong with them. (NB Cream, NB ASB, Frasers, TOBS, Speick (Cream), Tabac (Soap), Valobra, and others all spent some time in the mailbox oven)

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll wait just a couple of weeks when it should start getting down into the 90's. Just to be safe.

If all else fails, you could always head to the local Bath & Body Works and pick up some C.O. Bigelow. A fine cream if you ask me.
