Those are pretty pricey, nice bikes though. My Husky is more road-oriented as well. From what I've heard it's pretty capable off-road (for an adventure bike), but as I found out on my ride yesterday I'm not yet at the level for any serious off-roading.Great bike! I've been looking at the BMW GS1200 for quite awhile but just can't justify the money. I recently test rode the Suzuki VStrom 1000 and was impressed. Both of these are a little more road oriented but are competent for some off road use. If you want some inspiration (and some good information) read the book Ghost Rider by Neil Peart. It chronicles a 55,000 mile journey through North and South America on a BMW GS1200.
I'm on ADVrider, but it's so big that it's hard to find information. I'm on Cafe Husky as well, mostly for model-specific info.I have a Suzuki V-Strom 650 and enjoy it. There are some good online forums. One you might like that covers all the adventure bikes is advrider.com.
