Got a #15

Hey guys, got a #15 finally and I had my first shave with it tonight. Wow. Right up there with the best shaves I've ever gotten. The razor's weight makes it just glide through whiskers with no effort. The head geometry is perfect for my face and the balance is just right. It's just so easy to use. The rhodium gleams and I don't know where I can go from here as far as buying razors. Well, I'm sure I'll figure something out :biggrin1:. The razor is in my opinion in very good condition, I haven't put it through a real cleanup yet, I couldn't wait to try it. Here's some pictures, cheers!

Great razor, congratulations. That is one of the razors on my short list of "really want to buy/try). I just have to find a point where I'm ready to plunk down the coin it takes. The $150 or so isn't the issue so much as finding the right time where I feel like I can justify it for myself.

Glad you got one and like it so much. I hear the British version of these razors are in a class by themselves. I wish there was a place you could test drive one for a week or two before deciding to make the investment.

Congrats.

I hate to even say it and to truly become an enabler, but this is a case where once you get it, the money matters less. It's just a different razor than anything I've used up to this point. It actually shaves better than my British NEW, which I didn't think any other DE razor could do. Get one now, they could be a grand in five years :001_smile.

The #15 was my "grail" razor, and it lived up to my expectations. In my opinion, it is the best looking razor out there, and shaves as well as it looks. Although expensive, if well taken care of, its value will probably increase with time. Enjoy it.

that 15 IS my grail razor, after the gillette bulldog. Well, probably after the bulldog.

Nice!
I've been shaving with my #19 this week (which is the same razor but with gold plating) and agree that they're a wonderful razor to actually shave with. I also have a #47 which has the same head but a thinner handle and find it isn't quite as hefty in the hand when using it. Neither are as nimble as a New around the nose, but they just feel nicer to use everyhwere else!
Well done on getting it!

Nice score! The #15 is one of the most elegant British Gillette razors. And the Rhodium plating enhances it's appearance as much as it does the durability of the plating.

Correction, I was expecting one next week, Canada to California in 6 whole days! The trio has been completed. The shave lives up to everything people say! It's smooth, effective, and the razor is a work of art.
