What's new

Gillette Super Silver + Bleue Extra info needed.

Good evening gents,
Today I've scored a nice Gillette Super-Adjustable on the famous auction site (the French branch) and bundled with the razor these blades were included:

I am looking for some information as I'm not a vintage blades expert and the vendor had no clue, he though the blades were brand new as they are still sealed with plastic film.

According to Achim's website the white dispensers are German Super Silver "with platinum hardened edges" from the mid-nineties. Can these blades be compared with the "Swedes" even if they were made in Germany?
What makes me even more curious is the blue ones. The packaging features an old Gillette logo and the blades a new one, I guess it's a transitional packaging. How good are those early 90's French Bleue extra? I'm asking because the seller is on vacation and the blades will not arrive before three or four weeks and this makes me so impatient, lol!

Thanks!

The Bleue Extras from that time period are excellent blades. It is clear that they are coated with PTFE and shave well. It is unclear what metallic composition they are, and their longevity may be a little less than others, but expect at least 4-5 excellent shaves. More info here: Gillette Bleue Extra Carbon? - https://www.badgerandblade.com/forum/threads/gillette-bleue-extra-carbon.123180/

There are other threads about Gillette and its patents to strongly put coatings on non-stainless blades that are great shavers such as the Thins made in the US and France in the late 1980s/early 1990s. Some are silver in appearance, like the Gillette Thins sold in the US during that time and made in both countries. The GBEs from then may be very similar.

EDIT- Here is one of those threads. Need opinion on Gillette Bleue Extra - https://www.badgerandblade.com/forum/threads/need-opinion-on-gillette-bleue-extra.149239/

Note that the GBEs in the thread linked to this thread are about ten years newer than the ones you have.
