This is just an update on my Gillette Fusion Challenge that started on October 2nd and It was a very regular routine using only the Fusion,Gillette thermal face wash,Gillette Fusion Shave Goo,and Gillette Intense Cooling Lotion.Well, just today I finished off the canned goo and face wash and only have a little bit of the cooling lotion left.My routine everyday (except for a day when I tried out a GEM)was wash face with the face scrub,I did cheat a bit using Proraso Pre-Post Shave underneath the goo, shave WTG,XTG,and sometimes ATG.The Pre-post made it glide so much easier, but I had to stop going ATG because it was starting to irritate. So,you might ask does it last 5 weeks?Well,it all depends. With me,my beard isn't very course,or rough. And I used proper face prep procedure as well.Without the Pre-post,the canned goo really dries out my face which makes it difficult for the razor to glide. Also, the Pre-post seems to clog up in between the blades as well.Today,It was really starting to feel rough with some tugging and irritation,so today was my last day of using it.I'm sure I might be able to make it last longer, but to be honest,I'm very bored with it already and I miss my wet shaving routine with my DE razor.I recently got a sample of Astra blades from Garry to use on my Gilette Knack along with samples of Speick and Musgo Real, and a new bottle of Masters Bay Rum I want to try out so I can't wait to go back to the DE.I've noticed I'm starting to get some ingrowns ,so I'm guessing it's for the better if I stop using the Fusion.I'm going to keep it incase I'm in a hurry and need a quick shave. So in conclusion-Yes,it can last a while. But once you have bitten by the traditional wet shaving bug,it's very hard to go back to the cartridge.I'm sure someone with a very course beard won't find it lasting as long though.Back to DE tomorrow. And I cannot WAIT!
