Anyone tried this new one from Hearth and Home yet? Sounds interesting. Russ O's homage to the old Bengal Slices, made from Va, Lat, Orientals, black cavendish, mild topping glare all pressed into cakes/bars. Supposedly Oriental forward with the topping being just a bit sweet. I've been reading reviews and comments from guys who usually dislike sweet toppings as much as I do, but apparently it works quite well with this blend. I have a tin of it in my shopping cart at pipesancigars, along with some Lancer's Slices (and Mississippi River and Plum Pudding), which itself was apparently a modern take on Bengal Slices. They don't seem anything alike, though. Lancer's Slices consist only of Virginia and Latakia with no topping. Been wanting to try LS for a while now and will definitely pull the trigger on that one, but still not sure if I want to take the plunge with Fusilier's Ration (what a great name, huh?). Blade Boy, you try it yet? We seem to have similar likes for mostly unsweetened tobac but wondering if you find FR's sweetness tolerable.
P.S. Any Canadians want to split an order with me? Last time I ordered from P&C.com shipping cost me $27.80. That's a painful pill to swallow on an order for barely more than $30 of tobacco.
