From Straight to DE

I just picked up a Gillette Tech at a local antique store. I've been using a straight razor for the past several months but I'm finding myself getting nervous all over again. I'm going to have my first shave with the Tech tomorrow morning. I picked up some blades at stop and shop. They were the only DE blades they sold so they will have to due. Do I have anything to be worried about? I'm rather excited

No. Going from a straight to a tech shouldn't be that big of deal. Just don't use much pressure and watch the angle. My opinion of course.

You shouldn't have any trouble making that switch for however long you decide. The TECH is a very gentle beast. I have switched from DE to Straight..back to DE..and NOW back to Straights...( And people who know me ...know that ...that is Par for The Course!) Good luck on your experiment!

I'm assuming you've cleaned it and dissinfected it correct? You don't want any nasties from the previous owner getting in you with the inevitable nicks.
