First shave with Mama Bear soap

I just got my first Mama Bear soap yesterday (after an interesting discussion with our local post office) and got to try it together with a Merkur HD with Derby blade today.

I haven't tried very many soaps/creams before but compared to the Omega shaving soap and the Cyril Salter shaving cream these soaps rule!

It lathered much better and was more "slippery" as well. The scent is more pronounced and stays longer. I got a really good shave without any nicks

In other words, great soap!

Oups, forgot that :)

I got the spellbound woods and a dragon blood sample. Haven't tried the dragon blood yet but I liked both of the scents. They were both approved by my wife as well :)

Ah, well they seemed a bit confused. They marked my package as delivered when they in fact hadn't delivered the package. I called and asked about it and later got a phone call where they said that they had talked to the mailman that delivered the package and he was 100% sure that he had delivered it. Otherwise he wouldn't have marked it as delivered.

I was pretty upset and absolutely sure that someone had stolen my soap. My tried to tell me that it was pretty unlikely but I didn't listen. The next day the package came with the mailman who was sure that he already had delivered it.

He probably did take it home to smell it!!! :scared:

At least he only smelled it & wasnt all BBS like, then that would be a different story

MB and SCS are the only artisan products I've used so far.

I prefer MB's - easier to get water ratio right for me, and I love the plastic tubs - perfect for travel.

SCS soaps are quite soft and messy - have yet to acquire a suitable container for them!

I've just ordered the Cocoa EO one - can't wait!

I'ld love to try some of the Mama Bear soaps, but I'm still in doubt over where to order. If I order them here in Europe, I pay between 18 and 22$ for a soap that costs 7$ in the USA. I can order them directly from the MB site, but to justify the higher shipping rate I should buy more than one. (And I can't choose between all the scents)

Well, narrow it down to about 10 scents and put in the order. I'm sure you could sell them to other members in Europe if you find some of the scents aren't to your liking. Just get an assortment from all the major types.

But don't forget the Aged Spice!:tongue_sm

Now we know what happens to our shaving gear whenever it's sent via us mail and does not arrive-it's 'been delivered.'

Or you could put up a post asking if there are other people around here that would like a joint order for Europe? Or come to this side of the pond for vacation

The same thing happened to me this week. I'd ordered a brush from Tony at Penworks, got the shipping number and tracking information. I checked on Tuesday and it said it had been delivered that morning. I get home and nothing ... man, I was unhappy.

I called the local post office and talked with my carrier. He said it must have gone out and it must have been delivered, since that's what the scan said. Plus, he only brought back two packages, and neither was mine.

Get home yesterday, two days after "delivery," and what do you know, there it is.

Now, I don't think anyone took it home to smell it. But it is a very nice brush ...

How are you liking them? I got some samples and am not at all impressed with the soaps.

Still liking it but I guess it depends on what you compare it too. As I only have the Omega soap and the Cyril Salter to compare against it's hard to say for certain how good it is. Way better than the Omega anyway.
