Favorite Stand-Up Comedian

Gentlemen,

When not spending time in pursuit of a better shave, I often like to be entertained by the professional joke tellers of the world. I assume that I am not the only person who enjoys the good joke or limerick, and was wondering whose comedy you enjoy watching or hearing.

Some of my favorites right now are:

Eddie Izzard (specifically Dress to Kill)
Mike Birbiglia (specifically What I should have said was nothing)
Jim Gaffigan (Bacon humor, like bacon fat, fills my heart)
Lewis Black (Live at Carnegie Hall is amazing)

My all-time favorites are:

Chris Rock (Bring the Pain)
Dana Carvey (Must have watched his special on Comedy Central 25 times when I was younger)

And I also appreciate Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy, and George Carlin (which is my way of saying that what I have heard is funny, but I didn't grow up with them, so I don't idolize them properly.)

So who do you tickles that humor bone of yours?

Lately I haven't been able to attend many stand up comedy shows but I love me some stand up!

Brian Regan: very clean but highly entertaining. Emergency room, hooked on phonics, and peanut butter and jelly are all good bits (and on youtube)

Daniel Tosh: "Completely Serious" is good stuff, it was on watch it now on netflix at one time.

Todd Barry: Very mellow delivery and kind of dry, but I get a kick out of that sort of thing.

Demitri Martin: another mellow one with some good word play

Dave Attell: Skanks for the memories, but I think i may have a soft spot due to his work on "Insomniac"

Another "comedian" I really digg is H. Jon Benjamin. I have never seen his stand up, but he has voiced Coach McGurk in "Home Movies," Is on the Demitri Martin show, and was the son "Ben" on Dr. Katz (Great Show btw) the list could go on and on but that's a few of my favs.

It seems like I like you as a comedian if your not to popular, for example. I loved Dan Cook when he was just starting to become popular. When he started making movies I didn't like him as much (Except Waiting, he was funny in that) Same way with Demitri Martin, ever since he's gotten his own show I don't find him as funny.lol. Sounds weird but that's just me. I like all the classics like Richard Pryor, Bill Cosby Himself, Rodney was funny. I'd say Daniel Tosh is hilarious, I love Tosh 2.0. Guess that's one comedian with a show I still like. Oh Yea, how can I forget Dave Chappell his show was awesome, Lewis Black is funny. That's about it. Can't say I like the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, I really don't like Ron White

While not a traditional comedian, I'll say that Henry Rollins' spoken word performances are some of the funniest material I've ever heard.

Gaffigan's video Beyond the Pale is one of my all time favorite stand up acts, but Carparulo is great too.

Another guy that I have seen that I really liked was Joel McHale.
