It's only a couple blocks from the Merz downtown location. I was just there on Thursday last week. I have a friend who is into traditional shaving, cigars and bourbon (like me). When we want to catch up, he'll come downtown to hang out. We hit Merz to check out the shaving stuff, then down to Warehouse Liquors for a bottle of bourbon (Gene, the owner, always has great recommendations). Then we'll head to Ries to pick out a stick and relax in their lounge. It's BYO, but they provide the glassware and ice. All of this is within a 3 or 4 block radius. I love Chicago.

There is also an Utrecht Art Supply store close to Merz and Iwan Ries that has a healthy supply of Rhodia notebooks and pads, so we can add NIB AD's to the shaving, alcohol and tobacco!

this chicago tour sounds like its going to be an expensive one. Also going to need lots of empty luggage to bring back all the AD fueled awesomeness.
