"Euro" Palmolive GUT 2,2

Not sure if it's been posted before (if it has, my apologies).

I found the German consumer review site that did the survey (in Dec. '04) that rated Palmolive Soap as GUT 2,2 it's test.de

Even though this was over 5 years ago, I don't think there's any risk (at least here in the UK) of running out of it...it's certainly the only Palmolive I've ever seen in stock!

For clarification, this is the one that lists Potassium Hydrogenated Tallowate and Sodium Tallowate as the first two ingredients.

This is great stuff, was able to pick up a number in Germany in June, together with Speick sticks.

I got two of those from member planto (Ivan) in a recent international product swap, and it is a fabulous soap. Mine has the GUT 2,2 label on the boxes.

I'm still very happy with the Palmolive I got:thumbup1: Performs great, smells great. I wish I could track down some Palmolive bath soap with the same scent. For some reason all I can find locally now is Palmolive "Gold", it isn't quite right to me.

I'll do some research here and see if I can find you some Andy!

Here in the UK we tend to overlook this little gem...it's cheap as chips (comparable to Williams in the US) and even though it's readily available it tends to get tucked away on a low shelf in the shaving aisle getting crowded out by the "goo in a can" bullies in their flash packaging!

I've seen it at several places, the original green version that I assume smells like the stick, but never gave it much thought. After receiving the sticks, I can't track it down at all:blink: I'm sure some will surface again.
BTW, Have you had a chance to try ALL the soaps from our trade yet?:wink2:

I've seen this on sale in Asda and bought some a while back but have yet to use it (bath soap takes a loooong time to use up in my experience). I don't know if it's cost-effective to send it international but we definitely have it here. I just sent some Palmolive sticks to a fellow B and B'er and the postage for six of them was twice what they actually cost.

Have had a few shaves with the VdH, not bad but I found I got better lather from the Williams (cue the angry mob!). I'm about to try the "special" soap...was waiting until the appropriate mug was empty....it definitely deserves to be treated with due reverence :thumbup1:

Very good choice to allow the soap it's proper throne.. I mean mug:thumbup1: Can't wait to hear how you like it.

I got to try this thanks to Pumpkin's excellent efforts to share his local "good stuff" to us poor saps in the US stuck with Williams and VDH as just about the only shave soaps we can walk into a store and purchase.

I was astounded at this great soap, many thanks Pumpkin!

I agree. Postage in the UK is getting ridiculous. In an effort to help you guys abroad (esp outside the EU) to experience the Palmolive shave sticks, I'll be giving the option of sending some of these out with any stuff I happen to sell on the BST forum. This will depend on what I'm selling of course, the weight of the item and how much space is left in the packet.
