Dubl Duck prices !!??!!

One guy (an ebay newbie with 0 wins) foolishly bid $1000 to ensure he'd win, and the other entered a $400 bid, let his finger bounce one too many times on the 0 key, and hit enter before he realized it.

What on earth happened there??

Those people have ruined it for the rest of us. Now every seller is going to start charging 500 bucks for generic straights from manufacturers no one has even heard of...

That won't last long as they'll find they won't sell. In this particular case there has probably been a bidding war between 2 clueless bidders.

Clueless doesn't even start to describe it... Unless they know something we don't. Did this razor belong to someone famous or something?

Wow, yah, that's insane. I got my Wonderedge (foolishly on Ebay, but they don't pop up all that often, especially one with a round point edge, which I MUCH prefer) and it was $150, which I thought was quite expensive. I have no idea how a Goldedge went for that price--I would say the seller got insanely lucky as the item must have ended during internet hour at the insanity ward...

Can you believe this - it went for US $1,025.00? I mean sure the razor is nice and everything...but c'mon?

We keep seeing these things go for increasingly insane prices and we invent reasons why but the fact is no matter how insane the price a few weeks later it gets more insane.

It just goes to show you once you get a rep as a seller the skys the limit.

That's just crazy. A nice razor and highly reputable seller, but not worth anywhere near $1,025.00.

Note that apart from the two buyers who got into a bidding war, the highest bid was $180.

It must have been the beautiful case (plastic sleeve) that comes with it... ;)

Amazing. To think that I just sold one almost in that good of shape a few months ago for $185 via the BST. Guess I should have put it on Ebay, heh? Glad someone bought mine that will use it and enjoy it.

I have a Special No. 1 and it's an outstanding shaver but not much to look at really. The blued tang is nice though. I know it's somewhat subjective but are the other ducks that much better shavers? Wonderedge? Goldenedge?
