What's new

Dig my new hat!

Age 40 is coming up so I am officially retiring from wearing any type of ballcap :thumbup1:

Going with the Pancake/Flat Cap style.

What do U think?

This one is mesh and very light. I also need a couple of wool ones.

I like it...Im a fan of pretty much any hat other than ballcaps for some reason they dont fit my head. I am a Fedora fan as well as a true cowboy hat fan...

Thanks :thumbup1: I wish I could pull off the Fedora Look but I am unsure if I could with the landscape of my head.

You can, but probably not with a department store type hat.

Go to a decent hat shop that stocks a supply from some good manufacturers and get fitted for one.

You need one that fits your face, with the correct brim width, crown height etc.

You'd look great in the right fedora!!

But that's a nice cap you have there in any case!

I have tried a couple of flat caps, and haven't found one yet that works for me like the old Stetson my dad had. It has a snap on the brim, and the shape just works for me.

Unfortunately, the cap is a bit too small. Looks good on my kid, though.

Thanks for all the replies :thumbup1:

I like the Fedora idea but still think I need another 15 years under my belt before I attempt one.

My grandpa ALWAYS wore a Fedora, it was part of his everyday wardrobe. ...of course he was born in 1902 so it may have been a generational thing for him.

I gotta say, I think that retro is chic. That's what started me on DE, what kept me were the results. Course, I'm a fan of Steam-Punk too and if that's not your thing right on.

Crap! I just turned 40, so do I have to retire my ballcaps? Not really a ballcap fan, but I seem to have accumulated a half dozen, though I only wear 2-3 of them.
