Cyril Salter shaving soap

I have been using a round of Cyril Salter shaving soap since I got it as a freebie from a vendor with whom I had placed a large order some time ago. I have used it several times now and I am really starting to like it very much. I know nothing about who makes it other than I have been told that it may be the same as Trufit and Hill shaving soap. It is white and has a mild lavender scent and has the identical mold mark on the bottom of the round as the GFT soaps. It fits into a GFT wood bowl like a glove.

Have any of you had any experience with this soap?

Best regards,

Doug

The Vulfix/Cyril Salter/Culmak (and some say T&H) soaps all seems very similar I used to think they were made by the same company, however I found some soap made in the Middle East and now leading towards generic soap noodles (which is more common in bath/toilet bar soap).

I own a puck of T&H and love it. I did some research and it seems that Cyril Salter, T&H, Vintage Blades and probably others are identical and made by Culmak, who also sells the soap under their own name (for less than a third than what T&H charges!).

It's a great performer, and one of my favorite soap scents!

I didn't know they did soaps. As a fan of their creams, this is great news.

I did a quick search and it seems their soaps don't come in many scents, unlike the creams. Their lime, vetvetier, rose and sandalwood creams are top notch but I cannot find any of these scents in a soap formulation.

Correct, as far as I know, they only make one soap, the already mentioned lavender scented one. There doesn't appear to be any other scents available. :biggrin1:

I think you are talking about the Shaving Cream. The Cyril R. Salter soap only comes in the lavender scent.

Similar in that they are both top notch products, yes. But otherwise, it's not really fair to compare a shaving soap with a shaving cream.

I stand corrected Sir you are correct.:blushing:
