Cella is just great stuff

I finally got my hands on some Cella shave soap. As most reading this would know, it sort of occupies the land of both cream and soap, though it was sold to me as shaving soap.

Anyways, the fragrance is great, a nice light almond, like shaving with marzipan.....

I went to work on it with a Simpson's Chubby 1. I like to face lather, and I found this soap to be outstanding in that regard; a few goodly strokes of the bursh in the jar of soap to load the brush, then a really nice lather, finished with the thickest part of the lather on the chin.

Using a Muhle R106 loaded with a new Gillette 7 o'clock, I got as close a shave as I've ever had, with two day's growth. Followed this up with Stone Bay Men's aftershave balm (thick vitamin E cream with extracts of eucalyptus, birch, cherry bark) for a really nice end result, topped off with a few spritzes of Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet.

Face is still tingling nicely.

That Cella is great stuff!

There is a good reason the container states "CLASSICA DAL 1899" (Classic from 1899).

Wonderful product.

Gives a better shave than Tabac (yeah, I said it!) and is kinder to my skin...I can't complain. Great stuff! :thumbup1:

Then, I transferred it from the red tub into my big lathering bowl and used it in that context with my new Kent BK12 monster brush............my cup literally runneth over. What a shave.
