What's new

Capy Smith's and Captains Choice.

Hi Everyone,
New to the forum after having read countless threads during my transition into wet shaving.
I currently alternate between Odgallala Bay Rum with Sandlewood, Dominica, and Clubman Bay rum.
Interested in purchasing two new bay rums, one from Caribbean (Bay Rum or Capt Smiths), and one from Captains Choice(Original or Cato' Nine)/
Interested in hearing opinions of those who have tried them.
Thanks

Welcome to B&B.

You need to reword your question; I had to reread your post four times before I understood what you were asking.

I have the Captain's Choice Bay Rum and Cat O' Nine Tails. Both are excellent and leave you face nicely conditioned. The CO9T will give you a BIG menthol rush.

Just to muddy the water, two other favorites of mine are Krampert's Bay Rum Acadian Spice, and Krampert's Frostbite. Frostbite for the BIG menthol hit appreciated in south Texas in August. Again, both leave my face in great shape and well conditioned.

I've found the Captain's Choice products to be quite high quality with nice lasting scent (not the case with some other BR) and decent skin conditioning. I personally lean towards the Cat o' Nine Tails. It really let's you know it is there when you put it on after a shave, but is not overly aggressive.

I have used the Captain's Lime quite a bit. Nice face feel, but fleeting scent. I'm not sure if the regular Captain's is similar. I will however second the recommendation for Krampert's. It has a fantastic face feel and nice, rich scent.

To my nose, the original Captain's has a better scent than the Co9T. Of course the Co9T has a different kind of burn.

I like all of the Captain's products, and both of the Krampert's products mentioned. They're pretty different from each other.

Captain's Choice if you want lingering smell and a nice feel on your face. Krampert's if you want a nice smell that doesnt linger all day, and superior skin conditioning.

I have both, and enjoy both!

Received my Captains Choice Bay Rum two days ago. Scent is great, but its longevity after application has been pretty poor.
Will follow up i n a few weeks.

I have no experience with Caribbean AS, but do with Capt's Choice. Now the question becomes how intense of a bay rum experience do you want? Both the Bay Rum and Co9T smell great, and both "burn," but Co9T's sensation is more intense, builds over several seconds, and lasts longer. I like both. Enjoy!
