I have to admit that not all of my boars thrill me, but this Zenith unbleached boar I truly enjoy. Used it out of a bowl today.

Which unbleached knot is it you reset, the 24x56mm, 27x64mm or the 27x56mm?
Not exactly sure. The cheapest plastic handled one at yourshaving. Probably 27X64. It's huge. It could still be set down further to a shorter loft.
Yes, that's the 27x64 that comes in the 80B. It's a very nice knot! I find mine quite big as well, but with it being unbleached and densely packed it is far from a typical tall floppy knot!

This Turn n shave boar with the Paul Trotter handle was a real treat face lathering off the Stirling tub today.
Love this Zenith 205. The resin material is super grippy as well! The downside is that I'm not crazy about gray color.

I have three boar brushes soaking at the moment... the third round of wet/dry cycles. They are already much softer. I have three more coming, I think... tough to keep track. <eg>

My first black boar knot arrived yesterday, a Yaqi 26 with orange handle (plus a free Yaqi face mask). I've never come across a Black Boar brush before, so I have no idea how it will perform. It's more of a dark brown than pure black, similar in colour to my Zenith horse knot.

I suspect they died it that color. I was sceptical until I unboxed it, it's definitely a boar though (and a bit if a funky smelling one
). It should be making an appearance in Decemboar!That was my initial thought, but the fact its not a pure black but is more of a dark brown and the hairs aren't unison in colour has thrown me! I will see what colour the water is after it gets an initial soak!
Just as a FYI. I recently bought a synthetic brush that has black fibers. I didn't notice any color bleeding when the knot got wet for the first time. It was after shaving with it for the first time, when l was rinsing the excess soap from the knot while cleaning up post shave that I saw some black colored water coming off the brush. It stood out against the white porcelain sink.
