What's new

bought my first "vintage" gillette de today :)

i bought it for 20$ at an antique shop, i need help identifying it and dating it.i think its a ranger tech but i'am not sure. its not a 3 piece and where the blade goes it says "made in England , N2" i looked in the shave wiki but the chart is only u.s. razors. , it came in a silver box with a blade holder and a shave stick holder. thanks in advance:thumbup:

It may be your first, but it definitely won't be your last..."Resistance is futile"

Nice find for a double sawbuck.
Just a plain Tech, a Ranger would be a TTO one piece.
BTW N-2 would make that second quarter of 1968.

It's an English Tech with an aluminum handle. Looks nice. The Tech's give a nice mild shave. A Ranger Tech is a Twist to Open model that is the predecessor to the Super Speed. I'm not sure if there is an English version of the U.S. made Ranger Tech. Give it a little cleaning, load it up with a good blade and have fun. Lots of good tips about technique here on B&B when you're just starting out!

Nice razor! I love that palpable connection to the past when you hold a vintage razor in your hand... even if you don't know exactly where it came from or who owned the razor before. It's like being able to touch something from a museum. Cool.
