Gillette Tech Cardboard Box restore and R&B box restore

So I dug these two boxes out of an antique store the other day. I've never attempted to restore or even clean any of the boxed razors I've found over the years, but always had it on my "give it a go and see" list.

The Red & Black didn't come with the right razor, I managed to find a Canadian made head that is accurate but don't have the correct handle (yet! I'll find one somewhere at some point)

So the R&B exterior and workings are fine, but the interior was pretty miserable. I will say I try my best to keep the "character" of whatever it is I'm fiddling with, so the exterior, while worn, was left alone. The bottom felt was essentially threadbare and it's final stage before full disintegration so that what I wanted to address. I wanted to keep the inner lid felt as that is where the Gillette logo is and it is worth maintaining in my opinion (even though it is also showing it's age).

The Tech box was missing the inner piece that the razor and blades sit into. There is a small inner "ledge" around the inside of the base piece of the box that another piece sits upon. That piece was completely missing.

So after some fiddling and a trip to the fabric shop we are left with the following.

Thanks for looking!

Top job, if you are looking to re-home that fine Canadian 4 piece, I know a home for wayward orphaned razors :D
I'll keep that in mind my friend. Normally it's my home that is the re-homing location so it's good to know there are others out there like me!

So the razor head - 1934 Red & Black New. The plating on the top cap is completely gone. The base plate is rough. Look up the 1934 Red & Black Canadian set, that is the razor head. The handle however is not accurate for this set/head. It appears to be a handle associated with the other two Red & Black sets on Mr. Razor.
