Black-handled Popular

I picked up a less than perfect black-handled British Popular recently and wanted to restore it as best I could. Here's the disassembling details.

I sent the parts to Reliable Electroplating in Norton, Massachusetts for replating. The idea was to use black nickel and rhodium -- probably what the original razor had been plated with. Black nickel is made black by the additions of various elements to nickel and there can be a variety of blacks achieved. Doubtful that the one I got was identical to the original, but I think it looks great.

Now to find one of those beautiful white cases this razor was originally sold in -- as shown at Achim's site. But for now I am happy with my progress.
