Big, Aggressive, Vintage Razors

Well I searched and couldn't find my answer, so tell me-

How does the old Barbasol razor stack up against the Gillette Big Fellow and/or Big Boy? I'm talking performance as well as size/weight etc.

Pictures would be fantastic.

Barbasol shaves closer than Big Fellow.

Same size roughly.

The Barbasol floating head razor can be quite aggressive/effective; more so than the other two that you mention and cheaper, usually.
i just sold mine as it was too much for me neck area.

Barbasol. Not even a contest. I really think that the only DE the Barbasol does not out do on aggressiveness is the R41.

Here is the Barbasol and its British equivalent the PAL.

Big Boy Deluxe, trust me. It's probably the most aggressive DE Gillette made and it's highly efficient without being harsh.

The big boy will cut just as close ,but is much kinder to the face due to the old Gillette "know-how" in razor construction.Also,you will find the sheer weight of the big boy makes strokes effortless and efficient.

I don't think anything comes close to the Barbasol floating head model. I wear a beard, so I'm only using it to shave my neck. I don't find it to be as aggressive as everyone says. If I had to choose one razor for the rest of my life, I would keep the Barbasol without hesitation.

From what I've seen on ebay, the Big Boys command a higher price than the Barbasols, yet the Barbasols are far rarer. I just watched a chromium Big Boy with a broken handle pull in over $100 on ebay.

Barbasol Floating head razor (on thee right) is very aggressive and weighs 3.1 ounces...The Big Boys/Fellows have a variety of head styles, New Improved big Fellow weighs 2.8 ounces, New Deluxe Big Boy weighs 57 grams, Old Type Big Fellow and each varies in aggression when paired with the heavier Big Fellow/Boys handles.. But in in general the Barbasol is called the Big Fellow/Boy on steroids, its much more aggressive. (I have them all)

That has nothing to do with function...the Barbasol is still more aggressive and shaves smoother than all the Big/Boy Fellows though
