Best brush I can buy from this store

Hi

I'm heading down to my friendly 'Razor Shop' tomorrow to purchase a new shaving brush. I was hoping to get a Rooney but it seems my razor shop doesn't stock this brand. I know I could order online, but I'm not really an ordering online type of guy haha.

The razor shop I go to stocks the following brands:

- Eterna
- Zenith
- Proraso
- Vulfix
- Taylors
- Masonpearson

Out of these brands, can someone please recommend a must have brush...or the best brush to get.

Many thanks.

Probably a Vulfix. Someone will come along shortly and say which is the best model to buy. I don't own a Vulfix so I can't say. If you're lucky they'll carry Simpson brushes since they are now owned by Vulfix.

I hope I don't sound too preachy, but unless you're getting an inexpensive brush I would strongly recommend you get a better idea what you want and then figure out where to buy it.

Online shopping works very well for brushes. If you're in the U.S. and want Rooney (or one of the other brands he stocks) you can give Jim at Vintage Blades a call. He's very helpful and will be happy to talk to you and help you pick what you want. I'd guess that he'd even take your order over the phone if you're really adverse to doing it online.

He's a top rate merchant and will do right by you.

PS: I bought a Rooney Heritage Stubby Medium from him and love it.
PPS: Some Vulfixes are very soft and 'floppy' - considered by some (myself included) to be not a great characteristic (though others like them very much).
I don't know their line that well, some may be stiffer.

I like the sound of the below brushes (probably in order of most preferred):

Rooney 3/1 Super
Rooney 1/1 Finest/Super
Edwin Jagger/Crabtree and Evelyn Best Badger Brush (medium)

I'm from Australia....anyone recommend a good online place to buy?

As I said before, I'm not really big on buying things online...but I'm willing to do this if I can't find the item in person.

I think your best bet is the Vulfix. They should have the most variety in badger brushes. The standard Vulfix is usually the 2234, that is 22mm knot with 48mm loft. However, since you will get to see them in person you should pick the one that speaks to you.
