I never see Noxzema in stores so Barbasol is the easiest to get.
No thanks! to expensive. The Gillette barbershop is about $12 on eBay so not sure its worth it but I really want to try it!
Yeah I bought a case when it was discontinued. If you buy a case on eBay you might be able to get it for three or four bucks a can. That's still a lot for Foamy. Pharmapacks has Noxzema and Clubman foam at around two bucks the can.The Gillette barbershop is about $12 on eBay so not sure its worth it but I really want to try it!
Couldn't you use soaps and a brush with carts. I've heard others do.I miss DE shaving but carts just seem to work better for me...just boring. I miss my vintage razors, soaps, etc.
It didn't work for me either...as much as I wanted it to!Couldn't you use soaps and a brush with carts. I've heard others do.
Yeah compared to barbasol which is normally less than $1.50Yeah I bought a case when it was discontinued. If you buy a case on eBay you might be able to get it for three or four bucks a can. That's still a lot for Foamy. Pharmapacks has Noxzema and Clubman foam at around two bucks the can.
I used Gillette Foamy original in boot camp with a tracII...back in 1979.Yeah I bought a case when it was discontinued. Buy one and try it. If you don't..take back and get another one...The consistency is pretty much the same. The scent should all smell the same??
Good luck!Apparently they all smell different, I purchased the red can for sensitive skin yesterday since it was the only one available locally and really liked it but wasn't in love with the smell.View attachment 780765
So I ordered the Green and Classic white which will be here next week.

I have the classic can and smells like the cold cream...I enjoy Barbasol a lot more. The white one is the classic Noxzema scent- similar to what their cold cream or other facial wash products smell like. I don't know about the red or green however.
I used to always keep a can of Barbasol as "back up" for when my "good stuff" ran out. Over the years, I realized that Barbasol IS the good stuff.I've become obsessed with Barbasol shaving cream original lately and started using it exclusively. I know around here most see Barbasol as the "better" of the canned goo's but still canned goo. There are lots of threads about Barbasol and the different scents, colors, history etc. but I wanted to put it in one place for people who are looking or interested in trying it and for the people who use it to discuss it. I personally use the original because I enjoy the scent the best, I tried the sensitive but wasn't in love with it.
It would be awesome if anyone else who uses it could chime in with reviews and best places to purchase the types not found in stores. Id even love to hear from others who use it exclusively! (Im sure theres at least one other person)
This is the full shaving cream line up right now for anyone interestedView attachment 778151
Just a little backstory- Barbasol has been around officially since 1920 but obviously came in a tube back then. They supplied shaving product to American GI's and the products are still made in the USA.

Yeah, Brisk is good stuff.I used to always keep a can of Barbasol as "back up" for when my "good stuff" ran out. Over the years, I realized that Barbasol IS the good stuff.
I rarely use canned shave cream any more, stick to a brush, soap and a straight razor.
HOWEVER, I recently found out that Barbasol makes aftershaves, so I ordered some from Walgreens website. With free shipping to store, it was around $2.50. And....It's great!!! It is the Barbasol Brisk. Great and lasting scent with a good bit of menthol. The face feel is great as well. Honestly I like it a lot better than some of my $15 aftershaves. For the price, I ordered 3 more to keep around as it has taken the lead in my aftershave rotation.
