AoS trial kit brush longevity?

Hi all,

I was wandering through a Nordstrom's and got talked into a lemon scented AoS trial kit with the tiny badger brush. I had always wanted to try the lemon stuff anyway and it's perfect for a more compact travel kit (I still like my existing one, UK purchased Palmolive shave stick, Gillette Old Type razor, and my gold plated Vulfix travel brush). I like my old kit but I wanted a second kit for variety.

I've got a pill bottle for the brush (it's very tiny) and I've drilled holes in the cap of the bottle. Does anyone know how long-lived this brush will be? I've used it twice and it has shed about 10 hairs total but not much else since (I've shampooed and conditioned it too).

I don't know specifically of it's longevity, but AOS intends for it to last only as long as it takes you to use up the trial sized products.

The idea is that the trial kit would sell you on their system, and you would then use the included coupon to buy the full size kit (which comes with a much better brush) for $25.

I use mine as a very small travel brush, but then I don't travel that often. I used it the other day at home after it had been sitting for a couple of months and noticed that it lost three hairs. Still, it has been more durable than I expected, and provides decent lather and a nice scrubby feel, too.

I found mine at an antique store. When I saw that it was an AoS brush for $9 I thought I was getting a super deal. Then I learned it was their sample brush, big bummer. It says genuine badger on it. I asked the AoS store about it and they said it is a mix of badger and synthetic hair. I use it as a travel brush and has worked well for me. Can't address longevity though.

I used the aos brush for 3-4 months before the knot and handle started coming apart. It had started shedding by that time or I would have used some epoxy to fix it.

My $25 kit came with the $100 kit brush (got lucky I guess) It lasted about a year before the knot fell out, I epoxied the knot back in and have been shaving with it 2 months now...

I've been using mine for about 10 months now. It shed for a while, but now it seems to have stopped. It's got a crack in the handle, but it doesn't seem to impact performance. I'm just waiting for the right time to pull the trigger on a TGN knot. I'm pretty sure I've got a vintage brush on the way from my grandpa that I will drill out and put the new knot in.
