What's new

Any Yamasaki fans?

I found this in SF while on business; seems to be a mostly left coast phenomenon in my experience, but I truly enjoy this single malt from Japan. The 12 is a great everyday whisky with a great complexity and some interesting tastes, while the 18 is exquisite, one of my all time favorites.

Anyway, just wondering if anyone else has had the pleasure.:thumbup1:

I think Suntory makes a pretty good single malt. If you get a chance, try their Hakushu for comparison.

My answer is yes and no. I've tried it and I liked it. Then I saw how much it was to buy a bottle in Canada. I didn't like it after that.

The ABC store here near my house in Virginia sels the 12. I like it very much. I've yet to get the opportunity to try the 18. I'm hoping on our next visit to see my wife's family in Japan that we can try some of the harder to get Suntory single malts...

ABC store in virginia? I thought it was a Hawaii thing???

The Yamazaki is alright... I've definintely become spoiled with all the good scotch that I drink, so comparing Yamazaki is a little prejudice...

I'm definitely a fan of Japanese whiskies in general and Suntory product specifically. If you can find a bottle of their Hibiki 12 Year blend also sold in the US it is definitely worth a try.

I tried it at a tasting here in town. I've got far too many bottles of stuff I enjoy more, to pull the trigger on a bottle.
