I just did a search for "jansen's Pipe Shop," to see what I could find out. I got this: Jansen's N.O. - Pipedia - https://pipedia.org/wiki/Jansen%27s_N.O. It is basically correct except for 2 things:
1) The street name where the Jansen's shop was located is spelled "Chartres."
2) More important, I myself bought pipes and tobacco from Mr. Jansen in 1986 and 1987. So he could not have passed away in the "early" 1980s -- late 1980s, perhaps, or early 1990s.
Apparently you have to be a member or user to edit. If anybody is a user there, could you make those changes?
