12. If you could choose to be any animal, what would it be?

I would like to be a dog with an owner like me. Dogs are loyal, protective, and they enjoy to the utmost even the simplest pleasures of life. When treated with love, they will sacrifice themselves to protect their owner.

Last evening, I stumbled across your interview. I saved it for today to read. Like Simon, I'm late to leaving a reply, but I want to thank you for insights into a man whom I hold in high regard. I'm really intrigued by your world travels, military service, the desire to travel back to talk to mom. I'd love to sit and talk for hours with you over a pot of coffee in @Alum Ladd's garden shed.

One thing that really stood out to me was Q12... choosing the most loving, loyal, and protective creatures on earth. You made me both miss my dear golden retriever, yet at the time yearn to know more about you.
