I love the Merkur 23C. Works great with just about any blade, but shines with Feathers or blue, green, or black Gillettes.

I use a Merkur 38c barber pole. I think that qualifies as long handle--about 4". It is a 2 piece design. Fairly mild razor head--like the Merkur 34 or the EJ 89. But it is very hefty feeling. It weighs over 4 oz.--which is almost twice as heavy as the 23c. I find that it shaves close and comfortable with inexpensive Astra or Shark blades. I'd recommend it highly.

I have the original Tradere which has a longer handle as well as that I have a UFO Kaiser which I use with a Fatip head.

Both are three piece razors.

I enjoy long handle razors more than short ones

The razor I have with the longest handle would have to be the Vision 2000.

If you have a 3 piece razor you can use a long handle on it easily.

I have the merkur 180. Bought it for my introduction to wet shaving because I wanted something to hold. So far after a few months of use I've found Astra Superior Platinum and Gillette 7 o'clock (yellow) work the best. Merkur blades and 7am Plus were not good for me at all. Night and day difference between each group. I also think Col Conk's soap gives me the best shave out of the four soaps I use. Don't know what they put in it but it works!

Long handles may be underrated here. I enjoy using Krona's mostly because I like those handles.

The problem is though, some of the long handles become really heavy. I have a beautiful XL Bulldog from Bob's razorworks that I never use anymore, the handle is just too heavy for me.

I'm not a fan of the long handle razors at all. For me that handle just gets in the way, and even with a regular size handle I tend to hold it close to the razor head anyway.
