Slickness is a sickness
Another ebay Tech, this one a (mostly) gold plated, post-war, fat handle with no date code. So likely made in the late '40s, and despite being older than me, the razor looks pretty good. There is one small dot of corrosion visible on the top cap.

Gold is still pretty good on the handle and base plate, but gone from the top of the cap, revealing the red brass base metal, almost a rose gold color

Anyway, have it your way:

- Accept the razor as-is.
- Request that I lightly sand and polish the top cap, leaving the beautiful brass exposed but removing the "dot" (it will eventually develope patina).
- Request that I sand, polish and re-plate the top cap with nickel (the razor will be two-tone), and leave the base plate and handle original. Note that they are not 100%, but still nice.
- Request that I re-plate any combination of the three parts...whatever you wish...or the complete razor.

What will you choose? (No need to choose when you enter the PIF, we'll work it out after you win.) Note: it's NO PROBLEM for me to do the work (I welcome the practice) but it will take longer to ship if you choose to have me re-plate the razor.

Here she is in all her original, vintage glory (first option, above, the cap is a pink hue):

Rules (same as always):

- You must have been a registered member no later than November 6. 2024.
- You may not sell the razor...if it doesn't work for you, you must give it away.
- CONUS only. 😕

To enter, copy the list below and enter your user name next to the number of your choice.

When the list is full, the PIF is closed, and I'll go to random.org or Wheel of Names to determine the winner.

Good luck!

Your generosity is inspiring!

Thanks so much! I've had a pre-war and always wanted to try a post-war. I'm looking forward to it, and, yes, if it doesn't work for me, then I'll PIF it on!

There you go again <insert hat tip here>. Not in.

There’s not a thing wrong with patina to me. I found my uncle’s New LC, and scrubbed off the remaining lacquer and some gold wash with a toothbrush. So I polished it to a copper layer and left it. It patinas with no issues to date and is easily and quickly polished to shiny.
