Any Famous Relatives?

Do any of you have any famous relatives that you know about?
I am descended from the Stuarts of Bute and directly from John "The Black" Stewart, Sheriff of Bute and illegitimate son of Robert II which was a looooooong time ago and in more modern times my great-grandmothers cousin was the writer Dashiel Hammett of "Maltese Falcon" fame.
How about you fellers?

My family can trace back to Lady Godiva. I used to think it was just a story my grandpa would tell me. Then, his sister had a professional look into our heritage. We now have the family crest and all of that.

Well, that explains a lot, doesn't it? Great custom title fodder there too, Blake. Really.

No famous relatives for me; at least that I know of.

My ancestry is not nearly as fascinating as the previous posters.

On my father's side I am descended from the family Keiths Earls Marshall of Scotland. Specifically Richard Keith, a son of Great Marshal Hervey de Keith and his wife Margaret, the daughter of the 3rd Lord Douglas. The family coat of arms is the Chief of Keith (paly of six or and gules) with the Douglas mullets (Azure three mullets argent) in the base. The family can be traced to 1229.

I am a direct descendant on my mother's side of Joseph Storrs Fry who founded Fry, Vaughan and Co. in 1761. He invented and manufactured the Turkish Delight chocolate bar, the first chocolate Easter egg, the Chocolate Cream bar and, of course, Fry's Cocoa. The company merged with Cadbury's in 1919. My grandfather was the black sheep youngest son of Joseph Storrs Fry II. He was disowned when he ran away from home and joined the British Merchant Navy at the age of 15. He worked his way up to the rank of Ship's Captain and was the Harbor Master in Lima, Peru when he retired. The stories my mother told me about him.....

My brother once stuffed 10 Oreo's in his mouth in college. It was a pretty amazing accomplishment in our household.

My wife and I took it up later and discovered she meant

Brigham Young's right hand man (I think it was Stephen Kimball. Interestingly another Stephen Kimball is {or was recently} the leader of the Mormon church. Given the surname, we must be related, but I don't know how)

On my mother's side,

No one that I can't know... Probably some farmer on a farm somewhere in Europe...

I am descended from John Hancock, a signatory to the American Declaration of Independence, on my paternal grandmother's side of the family.

My wife is related to Alfred Hithcock. I on the other hand, am not related to anyone famous. Kinda wishing I was related to and an heir to Bill Gates.:001_rolle
