Another Mitchell's Wool Fat lover

Just lathered up the Rooney 3/1 with MWF for the first time. I love the smell. Very clean, like freshly washed laundry. You know, the kind you want to bury your face in and take a huge sniff.

Anyways, Jacksonville has VERY hard water. I gave the Rooney a few good shakes. I face lather and find it easier to load the brush with a drier brush.
Did about 30 seconds on the soap and put it to my face. I also shaved my head.

2 passes on the head and 3 on the face and I didn't even squeeze the brush. TONS of thick, slick lather. I stretch the lather quite a bit on the final pass on my head. This stuff is very slick. Much like Pre de Province for me.

I am hooked. 13 bucks for this huge puck in my opinion is one of the biggest bargains I have found yet. Really nice stuff.

Off to look for the group for MWF lovers.

I'm kinda partial to MWF myself. For the last year or so, it's been a regular for me. I wish they'd make it in a big ol' honkin' stick a la Tabac or Irisch Moos.

MWF is a fantastic soap! I use it regularly and am thinking of buying a couple of spare pucks...you know, just in case!

Its great and a puck will last 1/2 of forever!! Especially when you rotating it with 11 other soaps and creams (I've 2 extras under the sink--tabac also)

Go to MamaBear's site. Get a stick container. Grate your puck and put it in there. 1/2 a puck is enough for one standard sized shavestick

Way ahead of you. Been doing that for awhile; I'm on my 3rd puck.
SWMBO is just tired of seeing me defile her grater with my soap....I just say, "But Honey, it's soap...it washes off!"

If I'd listened to all the bad press about MWF, I'd have missed out on a great product:

"It has little scent, and it's nothing special." - I found that the scent is potent enough for me, and really, really nice.

"You can't make a good lather with this stuff!" - My experience was the exact opposite. Copious and magnificent lather, for smooth, comfortable shaves.

Plus, it has the famous levitating ceramic dish... this could be the ultimate shaving product!

I agree with you 100%. I have all kinds of creams and soaps and this may be in my top 5.

In no particular order:

Castle Forbes Lavender
Tabac
Pre De Province
Body Shop Original Formula
MWF

And thanks a bunch (sarcasm), now I have to track down a MWF dish.

I recently got some MWF with the cool dish. I've used it once and while I wouldn't describe the lather as copious, there was enough to coat my face for three passes plus touch ups. The smell is subdued but fresh and pleasant which I like. The best thing about this stuff is it's moisturising. I've not tried a soap or cream which even comes close to this stuff in this department. I think this will be the perfect winter soap.

The subtlety and mildness of the scent is probably one of the reasons MWF has been around for over 100 years. Any pronounced scent will eventually wear on you. Prominently scented soaps may be nice for a change of pace, but for some (like me!) will get tiring. Give me good old MWF!
