Al's Shave Cream and Cold Water

During the Summer I cold water shave after my morning run and shower. This morning I ran, showered and tried Al's Calypso with cold water. I got the usual great slickness, but the fantastic cushion I've come to expect from this cream just wasn't there.

Has anyone else used Al's creams with cold water? Perhaps I just messed up this morning . . . .

Not a cold water guy but I have not heard of this before. If I remember to do so I will give some Al's a test lather this evening using cold water.
