After a 1969 classic

Currently using a new Merkur 38c (with bar) but am thinking of swapping up to an adjustable comb DE for the experience of it.

This got me wondering about picking up an older razor, and maybe getting one as old as I am - Q3 1969. An adjustable Gillette sprang to mind, though it's the age that is the key not the model.

The plan is to have a DE I can use - maybe daily, maybe as a treat, not to sit on a shelf - so ideally something a newbie can grow with.

Any advice on the best brand/model razor to track down and the best way to bag one?

Third quarter 1969 would point you toward the Super Adjustable. Simply placing an ad in the BST "want to buy" section should get you what you are looking for.

I noticed one or two on that auction site recently. At least one of them was a 1969, unfortunately for you an O-1.

Keep looking though. They're out there and are also great razors!
