What's new

Adjustable settings - beyond the nine.

I stumbled upon this interesting thing while fiddling with a broken slim. The dial was turned down past the 1, rendering the dial meaningless. To dial it back up after it locks on the nine, I pushed in on the spring and had a functioning razor again.
Not content to just leave it be at that, I found that you can dial it up beyond 9, bringing in a whole new level of aggressiveness.

Has anybody tried this?

I have run across many overclocked Slims. They will usually max out at a setting of 7 if overclocked. It creates an exposure which is for the most part useless, though. I have picked up a few very cheaply because I was able to show the dealer that it was "broken" and would go past seven. Then, even before getting to the car I would have it clocked back down and working fine using the tip of a key or some other random sharp object in the store.

You mean 9, right?

He means 7. When the dial is turned up too far, past the nine, all the way up until it reaches the end of the threads (or whatever it is that stops it).
The one I got from you went all the way to 9 overclocked. Another slim I had would only go to 5.

I'm trying to underclock my Progress. Have also heard about the square root(minus 1) = i setting for guaranteed BBS every time, without blades ;)

I'm trying to squeeze out a petaflop from my futur! But the liquid nitrogen for cooling irritates my face early in the morning.
