Shave#151 of 365 (100%)

Razor:
Muhle Rocca R94
Blade: Astra SS (8)
Brush: RR Moka-soft 2 beehive
Soap: RR XXX
A/S: Proraso Green
Moisturizer: Nivea Hyaluron

Tonight I wanted to use the Rocca again with the Astra SS blade. I have actually had the mad notion that I might try the Voskhod blade with the Lupo tomorrow to see if that improves the experience even though the Voskhod is one of my least favourite blades. As for the lather I landed on XXX lathered with the Moka-soft as it was such a warm day today.
The result was as near to a BBS as makes no difference and very comfortable and enjoyable it was too

Wednesday 31st May, shave #151

Preshave: Hot washcloth
Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
Brush: Yaqi 24mm synthetic cashmere
Razor: GC.84 SB, Ti Handle, Astra SP #3
Bowl: Turkish copper
Post-shave: Nivea Hyaluron

Only needed a basic shave, but had the time and lather for a near-BBS.

Notes to these shaves:

Starting June off with one of my high efficiency beasts. The no nonsense, straight technique feedback, very audible Flatboy. I have used the head on the KCG handle lately much to my pleasure. A magnificent shave with ditto results.

Shave#152 of 365 (100%)

Razor:
RR Lupo 95 SB
Blade: Voskhod (1)
Brush: Yaqi Moka-Express 2 band badger
Soap: MWF
A/S: Old Spice
Moisturizer: Nivea Hyaluron

Tonight I had the mad idea of trying the Voskhod blade in the Lupo despite it being my least favourite blade. The next time I have a mad idea like that would someone please remind me not to do it thanks in advance. Tallow MWF is a great soap and bears no responsibility for the shave that follows.
The first pass started well enough until I got to my neck where it became more tuggy than a pub tug-o-war team. By the time I got to the final ATG pass it had become a real chore. Even after a spritz of witch hazel and moisturizer the Old Spice burned like a blow torch. Never again!

Thursday 1st June, shave #152

Preshave: Hot washcloth
Soap: Saponificio Varesino Cubebe
Brush: Yaqi 24mm synthetic cashmere
Razor: Leaf Twig, Twig half-blade #1
Bowl: Turkish copper
Post-shave: Nivea Hyaluron

Got my Twig in the post this morning, so this was its test drive. I loaded one of the half-blades provided. The loading mechanism is like a TTO with only one bay door.

I think it wants the head to be used almost flat on your skin, with the handle held at 45°. Did a WTG and XTG face shave, and a more cautious WTG neck shave.

Got a passable result, without any nicks. The Leaf blade was sharp, but not particularly smooth. I'd probably get on better with half an Astra.

If I'd only used cartridge razors, and wanted a way of baling out, this should be a fairly
easy one.

Notes to these shaves:

Nice shave and plenty effective too. Not as effective as my high end efficiency razors, but very nice.

Subsequent to the face shave I used my Greencult 2.0 II for the head shave. Amazingly effective. Two passes and smoothness around.

Enjoy your shave!
