Not out but I just used my exception for an after shave. Nothing fancy, just the Proraso green splash.

My favourite and only aftershave. LOTH seal of approval as well. I need to try adding menthol crystals!

You could take Proraso green splash to a whole new level by putting some menthol crystals in.

A dab of 444 works well too.

You don't hear much about 444 anymore but it works wonders for adding a menthol kick on a per use application.

Just add a pea sized amount in your palm, add your splash in your hand, rub and apply.

I'm going to pull tube out shortly.

I had never heard of 444. How is the scent? In particular, does the menthol scent stand out? Sounds interesting, might be interested in picking some up come January.

It has almost a mild Vicks Vapor rub scent. When mixed, I don't notice it. It's been a while since I used it as I have mainly been a RR Wax user. But I have a full tube (pictured) and partial tube, so will give it a couple uses with Floids "Genuine" this week and report back.

The tube is small but you don't use much for each use if you mix it with a splash. That's the only way I've used it.

It was very popular for a while but seems to have fallen off the radar for most members. I'm bringing it back, "444 in 2024".

The last thread title with 444 in it was from 2019. It deserves more talk than that.

The only A/S I've used for the last 3+yrs. That was the 1st part of me cutting back on shave items and has worked out great with every soap I use.

Pre-shave: Hot shower using Johnson and Johnson on face and head with facial scrubber. Tabac bloom water

Lather: Tabac bowl lathered

Passes: 2. WTG ATG



Post Shave Routine and products:

1 - Hot rinse with microfiber towel X2

2 - Cold rinse

3 - Alum block

4 - Cold rinse with microfiber towel X1

5 - Aftershave: Tabac edt

6 - Balm: Nivea sensitive skin



Notes: Today was a great shave. My previous shave was terribly uncomfortable due to foot problems; those problems were not an issue today thank god. The Tabac bowl lathered better today due to the T3 and its awesome properties. Last shave I used the Simpson 57 best and though I was able to work up a decent lather it was nowhere near today’s lather. The razor performed well on setting 7 then setting 5. The Fatboy never disappoints.

Overall: 9.8

I’m still going at it. It’s been two days since I’ve become unemployed and two days since I’ve shaved. The XO is commenting on how gruff I look. I will need a shave later today as my retirement dinner is tonight. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

I was in law enforcement for 33 years. Still shave every single day, but I do have quite an epic handlebar mustache since I retired about 16 months ago.
Edit: Oh yeah, I'm still in.
