ASRazor shave, Tuesday, August 23rd 2022

Razor : Gem Heavy Flat top(AKA = G Bar) Mfg 1955-58, excellent mild>tame mid range, excellent design, eye candy to lots of folks and just a joy to use. Gem had some nice models of razors to compete with other big name brands. 1st Gem owned!
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE (7) very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely + predictable. Safe & easy handling blade.
Soap : Razorock Irish Countryside, mild unique scent with excellent lather qualities, Aftershave has a nicer lasting fragrance IMO.
Brush : Yaqi Viper 24mm boar bristle:001_wub:, excellent lather generator, soft split end bristle hairs, very nice scrub + excellent painter. Nice change for different face feel while lathering.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : With hazel cleanse & Razorock Irish Countryside + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results :CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers=:a17: excellent shave with my Gem G bar with a coated Gem blade.

Have some great shaves!

Razor: Rockwell 6C, R3
Blade: Elios (8)
Bowl: Captain’s Choice Copper
Brush: Frank badger
Soap: Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood
Witch Hazel
Aftershave: Mix of English Leather and Citrus Musk

My lather making technique has been heavily influenced by using synths. I didn’t do well creating lather today. It was thin and disappeared off my face. But the soap left enough slickness anyway that my shave was comfortable

Aventus August / Tech Tuesday / Anglophile Week

Blade: Wilkinson Sword
Razor: Gillette Aluminum Handle Tech 1973 (T4) w/ stamped head logo

Brush: Yaqi Purple Haze (synthetic)
Soap: Stirling Soap Co. Executive Man

Post: Dickinson's Deep Cleansing Astringent w/ Menthol & Eucalyptus
Aftershave: Aqua Velva Ice Sport
Finish: Penhaligon's

I don't have many English items in my home and that's a shame. I most certainly should have more English razors. I'm still pulling all of my razors out and assessing what I have so I may just find some. I've been cleaning up about one razor a day so we'll see soon enough.

As far as this Tech goes. It's a no-brainer, easy-peasy, whisker whacker. I did a three pass shave including against the grain and legitimately achieved a bbs shave.

My new Yaqi synthetic is continuing to please me with its ultra soft tips. The sickness and scent of the Stirling soap are always top-notch. The witch hazel is new. I chose it because of the added menthol and eucalyptus. It's not strong by any means but it's a nice addition none the less. Last but not least, I threw on a healthy dose of some good ol' Aqua Velva Ice Sport. Nice alcohol sting and fresh scent to get my day started. Or at least get me to my first cup of coffee 😏

Happy shaving gentlemen.
