The Nib acquisitions for 2022

The new pens are cartridge/converter and have screw tops. I am not sure how the nibs compare. So far I have gotten three vintage pens and after cleaning they worked great and I didn't spend a lot on them.
This place has a lot of info and the pens have been gone over.

Chandu

I Waxed The Badger.
3 cheap glass pens from Amazon to test inks.

Tried them on 3 different Noodler's and all worked flawlessly. No running, no dry spots, lots of writing with 1 dip. They even came with individual plastic cases. $20 shipped for 3.

I'll probably use these for signing cards too

I need to get some of those and then some great NOT PEN SAFE inks to got with them. LOL

@Heavy_Metal_Hound Nice looking Lamy.

I'm enjoying my "F" tip Lamy much more than I did the first go round with FP's. I'm just using a cartridge right now too.

My other Fountain pen is an F nib Parker Fronteer, while I like the weight and look of the Parker, so far I'm liking the fact that my new m nib lammy doesn't make scratching noises while I write. Also as someone who tends to write in small letters, so far i've found that the Lamy is forcing me to use larger letters, thus making my handwriting more legible. Thus far I'm liking my new Lamy Safary.

Happened on this at a local antique store. Label is starting to come off but can be easily glued I think.

Only $4CAD (about $3.15US)

At last I own a Sheaffer's PFM III, American made as well. After searching for it almost everywhere I found it. It has a medium nib. I don't see the hype this pen had in its heyday, and why call it the 'Pen For Men'. I have big hands, I think, I also have big pens as well so the PFM looks 'normal' to me. I have taken a picture beside a Waterman Man 100 Patrician just to compare sizes. I do not know if it is an appropriate comparison or not but here it is, the Man is way bigger.

The nib is a beauty. I didn't like inlaid nibs at first, that is when I was given a Sheaffer's Targa in silver, but I had to rethink about it. Snorkel filling is really a cool invention too, as there are many others out there still to be discovered by me. I'm enjoying writing with it right now. Although today I'm using a Pelikan M250 :)

That's torn it! I was just about managing to keep myself from getting a sailor by convincing myself that I wanted the 21k nib in the pro gear rather than the 14k nib in the pro gear slim. And that the pro gear is too expensive. Then @Jud says that they're not that different and I had an accident...

Alright, here is my first post to the nib acquisition thread! A wonderful PIF from @airmech thank you again Tom! Two orders from the Zon, a Goulet and a Lemur Ink order! I think I should be set for a while! Thank you everyone for all the great advice so far! It really has made something that used to be a chore, so enjoyable! Have a great day y’all! 😎🤙

Not a nib but a pencil this time. Trying out a ‘new to me’ vintage Yard-o-Led. I’ve always liked the look of these but never tried one. This was reasonably priced so I gave it a shot. The pencil is a bit smaller than I imagined but makes a nice English set with an old Parker Jotter. A bit of hail damage here and there but not looking too bad for its age. Most importantly it’s all still working nice and smoothly.

Finding the 1.18mm leads is a bit of a challenge but can still be done. I will be replacing the current leads with a softer B grade refill soon.
