| Comments | Second shave with the UK Aristocrat and GSB blade. This is one fine razor, and the combo was excellent. The SOC struggled to load with the remnants of the Klar soap. I had to take some of the remnants and rub it on my face as if it were a shave stick. That seemed to work fine. A nice shave on a beautiful Arizona day. Have a good one, folks. |

DE SOTD, March 23rd 2022
Razor: Yaqi gold Melon head with a Razorock handle, nice mild to tame mid range, nice with a Kai blade, easy going shave.
Yaqi Melon head is designed similar to the Grand shave King self lubricating razor of the 1940's, great razor for a DFS++.
Blade: Kai SS extra wide(7) excellent blade, sharp & smooth with excellent longevity, great for more blade feel.
Soap: Razorock Santa Maria del Fiore, nice vanilla light tobacco scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi Sagrada Familia 24mm Tuxedo knot, excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice scrub + excellent painter.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups + cold water rinse razor(testing).
Post shave: Razorock Santa Maria del Fiore AS with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion + scentless.
Results: CCS,DFS,BbS + no irritation + 1 weeper =
excellent shave with my Yaqi melon head razor with a Kai SS blade.

Wednesday 3/23 SOTD- two passes, plus some ATG buffing for a BBS result, 10/10; my face feels truly fine; this was a super smooth and close, no irritation, no hassle shave:
Pre-shave- Proraso Green Pre-shave cream- it's in the house so I'm using it a bit, the menthol is nice but I can't tell if it has improved my shaves or not
Razor: CS Occam's AC- this razor gives me no worries very close, comfy shaves
Blade: Feather AC Pro (1)- these blades give me virtually straight razor quality shaves
Brush: Omega 10108 boar- breaking in nicely
Soap: PAA CK6 Future Fiction shave stick- in a pill bottle for travel; nice lather today from a relaxing face lather
Post-shave: cold rinse, two drops of HA serum, then some Anthony's Logistics ASB- another great post-shave feel today
Brush tip- for those who may find Omega Pro brushes floppy, if you just soak about 1/2 inch up and the tips, the brush may be easier to manage as it retains more backbone.

This beautiful antique razor returns from a re-honed & finished on a Nakayama. The edge...amazing buttery smoothness, very comfortable and efficient. Managed a workday rush 2.5passes for an enjoyable dfs+/ccs result. The aftershaves were terrific and matched well with the soap.
