Anybody else disappointed/disgusted by the color of their teeth when your face is covered with snow-white lather? Don't get me wrong, I've made it 37 years without so much as a cavity so my teeth are healthy, just not white.

I am new to wet shaving and still waiting on my first supplies to try the whole thing out. But one thing I get comments on are my teeth. I do have cavities, but that was from when I was a kid and ate to much candy without brushing.. lol.. But now I take care of my teeth. I think there are two things that I have learned along the way that make a HUGE difference.

One being the brush.. Only one type that I have tried that works and works well.. Oral B electronic toothbrush. They have really fancy ones now, but the basic rechargeable one is great. No need for digital display and such. So if you do not have one, get one. It has a built in timer that vibrates when you should be done. Most people do not brush their teeth long enough. 2 minutes minimum.

Second. Teeth are translucent. What does that mean? Well if you want your teeth to be white you have to brush them front to back. Light shines through your teeth and if they are yellow/dirty on back then that will effect the color you see in the front of your teeth.

With using the Oral B electronic toothbrush and brushing front to back, you will see improvement within days.

I usually brush my teeth for 4 minutes. 2mins on top (1 min front, 1 min back) and 2 minutes on bottom(1 min front, 1 min back). The Oral B brush head is round in shape so makes it really easy to get close to gum line without touching it.

I also find that with the oral b you can play catch up quite easily.. Say you don't brush your teeth as much as you would like in a week, then take a 10 minute cleaning time and do dentist type clean and your back in business. When your done your teeth will feel just as smooth and getting a professional cleaning. Its a great piece of equipment and I highly recommend it.

Lastly, this may not make a difference to teeth color, but its great for your teeth. Oral B has Flourinse mouth wash.. Its not a alcohol base, make you mouth smell good stuff. Its an anti cavity rinse that is designed to stop cavities and make your teeth stronger.. It has 0.05% sodium fluoride in it. When I last purchased it, I had to the pharmacist to get it behind their counter. It was about double the cost of average mouth wash, but its the only one with fluoride in it and that is what you really need. One bottle last a long time as you only take a cap full each time and you can skip days without it. Most people, especially kids do not get enough fluoride any more due to water filtration and such..

Hope this helps getting your teeth back to where you would like them. I should mention that I get comments on my teeth a fair bit and I smoke and drink black coffee.. That should speak volumes about those two/three suggestions.

Not for nothing teeth arn't white. Granted they will stain from coffee tea and other stuff, but only has Hollywood and other fashion industries made everyone believe teeth are white! Clean teeth are clean, white teeth are bleached or treated by either toothpaste or teeth whitening products.
